Really not surprised. Not a pro here but i keep reading that in general airline companies have lowered their minimum fuel limits as much as they can to save gas and $$. In a blog i also read that this policy may have also been one of the contributing factor for the Air France Paris-Rio accident (not the main one but this didn't help). Plane didn't have enough fuel to go around the storm and get to Paris without needing to refuel which would have caused delays and costs.
