It is time that the Australian Government got stuck into the airlines in Australia to stop the customers from been ripped off.
My checked bag was lost by Southwest Air I was boarding in Atlanta and because of the twenty people in wheelchairs the flight was delayed by 90 mins so my connection in Denver did not receive my luggage in time for the flight as my flight from Atlanta was delayed and the gate for boarding in Denver was closing in three minutes. When iI got to my destination Burbank. CA. I waited and waited for my luggage but it didn't arrive. Southwest compensated me a $200 discount on a new flight but i had no clothes or toiletries for my trip and it took three days to find where my bag had gone. Southwest was very kind about the loss but i had to travel all the way back to the airport because they said i couldn't have the discount if they delivered it to my hotel
Always keep essentials in a small carry on bag.
If airlines are held accountable for lost luggage they might try harder to prevent it from getting lost.
