Airbus Concerned About "Adverse Impact" Over Qatar Airways Suit

Airbus needs to admit fault (because it is indeed their paint screw-up) settle the suit and get over it!

Airbus is right to warn shareholders about this dispute, but Qatar Airways should also be concerned that their ability to play Airbus against Boeing may be impacted in the future.

Hectic way for Airbus to handle this claim ! So far they were sitting firm on their position, and taking the unusual step to delete a major order from a major, even nasty, customer,and now they go publicly whining this could hurt them and their results !
Would have better to shut up and go back to the bargaining table with Qatar.

Airbus screwed up, they should have come up with a settlement outside of the courts.
Boeing early on had paint adherence issues too with their carbon-fiber fuselages, which they resolved immediately during development.

Considering that Qatar grounded a bunch of their Airbus planes over the paint issue during the pandemic when they likely would have had to ground them anyway - and trying to get money damages from Airbus for it - I find Qatar's position that this is more than a cosmetic problem a bit suspect. Nevertheless, I hope they all get this row sorted.

It is part of doing business. Now they know what Boeing has been going through. Wait until they have a good wreck.

Seems like working to fix it would have been the best way to go. To lose billions of dollars of business over such an issue is crazy. Airbus can only lose this PR issue and without customers businesses don't exist.

Well, Duh!
Airbus should have done the right thing, taken responsibility, and fixed the problem in the first place. They can claim the aircraft is safe all day long, but, if I, as a pax, see a large chunk of the fuselage missing I'm not getting on that airplane.
The Airbus management's arrogant and irresponsible behavior was bound to have consequences. It put the airlines on notice that unless they write their own airframe warranty clauses into the purchase contracts, they are dealing with a manufacturer who will not guarantee and stand by their product.
The EU court is nothing but a commune of beaurocratic puppets taking orders from their individual Governments.
I am sure there are some details we the public will never know. And Airbus will never know just how much their policy of arrogance has cost them over this one little problem. Just fix the planes, stupid!

Hopefully, they go bankrupt in five years time.
