Russian carrier Aeroflot cancels order for 22 Boeing 787
The lost order is a cause for concern in Everett because the 787 backlog is dwindling fast as the company aims to roll out the planes at a rate of 14 jets per month. (www.seattletimes.com) More...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
What is the reason for the cancellation of this order that dates back to 2007? With all of the sanctions the U.S. has put on Russia in the last few years I'm surprised that any Russian airline would be buying any American aircraft when they can buy Airbus to satisfy all their needs. Ditto Chinese Airlines. I believe China was Boeing's biggest market but with all the sanctions and tariffs being put on China why would a Chinese Airline buy Boeing? Again they can buy whatever they need from Airbus or domestic companies. If these insane trade wars, not just with China but with Europe and the rest of the world are not resolved I believe Boeing will be the biggest loser.
Just to add to that, Kevin, I wouldn't be surprised to see both mentioned governments "push" their manufactures to step up development, production and testing of the C919, MC-21 and CR929.
"those" gov'ts that have the single aisle designs on their drawing boards for over ten years, without certification, have been too busy building hypersonic weapons.
irony much?
irony much?
"...why would a Chinese Airline buy Boeing?..."
Because Boeing built a completion center in Shanghai.
