Cessna 210 crashes during flight from Jackson to Birmingham

The FAA says the aircraft is a Cessna 210 that lost contact with the control tower at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth Airport at about 10:20 Friday night as it was coming into the airport. The flight was coming from Jackson, Mississippi from the Jackson-Evers International Airport. Trussville PD has confirmed that two bodies have been found in the crash. (www.wjtv.com) More...

My wife and I were Celebrating Valentine dinner that night at our favorite spot atop Red Mountain.It had been raining for about an hour and when the rain let up a heavy fog moved in from the west around 9:20. I made the commented to my wife. "I would not want to be landing in that soup"
