A related event ... https://www.b2osh.org/web/B2OSH/Default.asp ... On Saturday, July 19, 2025, ~130 mostly Bonanzas that have gathered at LSE will depart in formation 3 across every 2-2.5 minutes, fly in formation to OSH, and land in formation at OSH. Impressive!
Our local Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, VA is planning on sending their Me262 Schwalbe, P-51 Mustang and AD-4 Skyraider.
I have actually flown into OSH for the gathering more than once. Just getting there is quite an experience. Came fairly close to a head on once when a guy in a twin didn't think he needed to follow the instructions and just flew on in on an outbound vector.
Great show this year Saturday night was spectacular !
It seems like someone always crashes and dies going to or coming from OSH. Perhaps they should require everyone to drive!
