I hope all airlines do this. It will stop all of the stupidity. I hop they go for the max penalties too.

Wished all Airlines did this.

They should pay Full costs of the diversions caused, plus fines.

Adding an inconvenience fee for everyone onboard as well.

plus a ban from the airline

How about putting them on the TSA no fly list like any other terrorist?

It is about time this happens.. Now all the other Airlines needs to follow suit!

It would be a laugh to see Frontier and Spirit do this.

Maybe this can be Spirit's path to profitability!

Wearing shorts, sandals, barefeet, putting their smelly feet on armrests -sticking out into the aisle-, nasty BO, not using headphones, and 100 other selfish, disrespectful modern passenger behaviors.

I like wearing decent comfortable shorts while flying. I find most flights are too warm and when you are travelling from to and from very warm destinations, comfort can be improved by dressing for the temperatures.

Sometimes some of us are delayed getting off work and don’t have time to shower. I would rather board with a little BO than wait another day to get home.

I see only one problem with this idea…
I am willing to bet that the majority of people creating disturbances on airlines both have not got a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of. Charging them and bringing them to court to force them to pay damages is likely futile.

In some cases, however, it's still an inconvenience and they still have a judgment against them that will adversely affect their credit history. Also, in criminal cases, they may have some jail time and/or probation with restrictive conditions. All in all, it's at least some type of consequence.

Not sure about where you are but where I am there is a thing called “Fine Options” where if you can’t pay you do community service work like repairing or rebuilding public infrastructure. I like to hire them for extra labour, the court gets their wage and I can work them like dogs so they learn a lesson.

Not if they're found guilty. They may not pay, but they'll all have a record that can be referenced for any future similar litigation!

In the US - probably - In Europe - who knows?

How about 30% APR, immediate wage garnishment, and being legally forced to find and maintain a job if they don't have one?
susandale42
Great idea! Should be universal!

I guess when you sell tickets for "pennies", you'll get the whole range of socio-economic passengers. I'm not saying that well-heeled passengers are are all angels as many suffer from severe forms of self-entitlement but, the chances are greater when you get the whole gamut.

Great stuff.
Of course, the soak heads will be well oiled up at the airport by the time they get on the aircraft, so I believe it unlikely that Ryanair contribute much to the problem by selling booze on board.
JamesDickinson
Having flown once, but never again with RyanAir, I can sympathize with unruly, even while not condoning it. I was a Million Mile+ commercial flyer before buying my Cirrus. I can say that of my many negative experiences, none could top or even approach RyanAir.

Don't know but if not IATA needs a worldwide database of no fly miscreants.

Your theory is that the passenger was merely exercising their first amendment rights?

Ryanair doesn't fly to USA, so no first amendment rights
