I frequently fly to OBE for breakfast or lunch. They have very good food and great service from a very friendly staff. Today I had a business meeting near OBE, so I flew in around 08:30 and attempted to rent a car as I have done on several other occasions but was very disappointed to find out that there were no rental cars available.
Mike Brown, the FBO attendant was very sympathetic to my situation and attempted to find a solution. When he realized that there were no other options, he offered to lend me his personal truck. I turned it down for obvious reasons, but he insisted. He told me to take it so I could attend my meeting and not to worry about it. He handed me the key and said that it had very little fuel but to use it and just fill it back to where it was. Out of options and running out of time, I accepted his offer and was able to attend my meeting on time.
Upon returning to OBE I topped off the tank on his truck and gave him a decent tip, but I feel that still doesn't express how grateful I am for his unselfishness and hospitality. Mike Brown is an exceptional person and great asset to OBE. I was really touched today by his kindness and wish there were more people like him in this world.
