Ken this is a great historic photo of this fantastic workhorse of ww 2 , about 5 years back I was able to climb onboard at an air show .One of my favorite memories from when I was in the A F was having a German tell me as kid he saw the American bombers flying over and the noise was so loud that he had to cover his ears .
I sure miss 909.

Similar story from my mom. My mom had a student who was a teenager in Germany during WW 2. As a young teen her family ran in to the woods when the 8th Air Force was above.....thinking that the woods gave better protection than the homes in her town / city.
