Believe i flew this one or one like it when it and i were based at Travis AFB. It was owned by the Aero Club while I earned more money as a part time CFII then I did as a private first class MP guarding Nike missiles at Travis. Back in the day - 1966.

North American thought that all the returning pilots from World War II would want their own airplane, so they brought out the Navion. As it turned out, only a very small percentage of the pilots wanted their own aircraft in civilian life For many pilots, flying was just their job in the effort to win the war. Once the war was over, so were there flying days.

Well said Jeff. I'm sure the cost of owning and maintaining their own a/c didn't exactly help either!
