There were only two photogs at this photo spot - an old fart and a college student. I’m not a college student.

Both of us however were after the same effect, take-off from a wet runway - little did we know how wet! (That young guy had some damn fine equipment - serious photographer, not just a grab a phone and snap. Bodes well for the future).

As the plane taxied down to the end of 05 we could see rain approaching rapidly from the west. In a minute the plane disappeared and the runway lights came up. Then we got hit by the rain, but we waited. Very shortly we could see the aircraft lights and hear the plane coming and this was the outcome.

Thanks Richard. This is the worst I've been caught in with aviation but it's the sense of adventure!
