Per Cirium: On Dec. 22, 2024 a Piper PA-42-1000 Cheyenne 400LS (PR-NDN) registered to Luiz Claudio Salgueiro Galeazzi was destroyed by impact and post impact fire when it lost height shortly after take-off from Runway 24 at Canela Airport, Canela, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, struck the roof of a two-story house in Gramado, Rio Grande do Sul and crashed into an empty furniture shop. Burning debris continued across a road and impacted a small hotel. All nine on board the aircraft were killed in the accident and a number of people on the ground were injured. The accident happened in daylight (0913L) but in poor weather with reduced visibility in rain and fog. The aircraft was operating a flight to Jundiai, Sao Paulo.
