Excellent catch in less-than-balmy conditions, Frsnk. Looks like you and another contributor named Fiona were both determined to get that amazing a/c. "Fives" to you both and to others who caught it.
Thank you very much Gary Schnauzer for your kind words. It was a very cold and windy night. I had a lot of issues with my camera icing up and the electronics started film on me. It was my first time seeing this plane and there was nothing going to stop me from photographing it. More of my shots here on Flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/frankreardonphotography/sets/72157651541801768/
I understand about your difficulties while shooting out in the adverse weather. I've experienced the same thing. But just seeing this shot tells me a lot about you and a couple others who were also out there. I'd rather view one or two pics taken by spotters like you who are intense and ultra-enthusiastic than fifty shots taken from the same tired old angle by some pseudo spotter who is only out there when all the conditions are perfect and whose every shot is the "left front quarter panel" variety. Just the couple you pposted of this bird are amazing. (That thru-the-fence snap of yours is primo. I love it! 90% of today's "spotters" have no imagination; they would never have even seen the uniqueness of taking a click like that.) I admire your spotter motivation and spirit, Frank, and I Thank You for sharing your pics.
I am deeply Honoured Gary for your kind words. I try my best as a photographer to do something different that stands out. For example I was out photographing the Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane this morning at 6:30 Am and it was very cold. But an amazing experience being able to get so close to the Sikorsky and obtaining some amazing shots for the first time. Feeling the wind from when she was taking off is the best experience. Thanks again for your kind words. I am glad people are being my photos and not just sitting on a server somewhere.
