I looked at your picture of the this C-17, then clicked on KFFO, then realised the USAF has retired a C-17 to a museum already, a bit shocking. Do you have any info behind this birds retirement, Ken?

No Frank........

This bird came from Edwards AFB. was used in a lot of movies ...Tron, Superman, a lot of the Hollywood Superman Movies.

I live in Wisconsin, very close to the EAA Oshkosh and was passing through.

I suspect it is temporarily outside until they can find a place for it inside. The museum still has the annex across the base.

Thanks, Ken for the info. I was fortunate enough to visit the USAF museum in Dayton, bit of a pilgrimage as well, for me to see the birth place of the Wright Brothers, visit the Bicycle Shop and Hoffman Praire. Great to see the B70 housed inside the new extension, more accessible.

They certainly did a great job with the XB-70 & the other aircraft in the hangar.

I reside in Appleton, WI ...but....Dayton was close to home as I grew up in Western Cincinnati.
