Swearingen Merlin 3 (N579TX)
Comments
This beauty is a 1970 Swearingen Merlin IIB, not a "3".
(Note the Beechcraft empennage.)

Absolutely, she is certainly a Merlin 11B. Aeronautical engineer Ed Swearingen mated Beech wings with his own clean sheet and highly pressurised fuselage up to 7PSI differential pressure. The Merlin 3 is a truncated Metro...16feet shorter but with a Metro 2 wing and a variable incidence horizontal stabiliser.
I should have phrased that better. The Merlin3 (SA226T) has basically the same wing and also has the variable incidence horizontal stab of the Metro 2. I am Type rated in the SA226T.
