North American P-51 Mustang —

North American P-51D Mustang nicknamed Gunfighter shortly after arriving at Niagara Falls International Airport for the 2021 Air Power History Tour presented by the Commemorative Air Force. This particular Mustang has an over 35 year career providing rides and appearing on the airshow circuit while serving with the Commemorative Air Force. Originally built in 1945, this aircraft would be given serial number 44-73264 and be accepted into service with the USAAF the smae year. Not long after acceptance, it would be shipped to England and be assigned with the famous "Mighty Eighth" Air Force. After the conclusion of World War two, this Mustang would serve with multiple units in the Air National Guard including stints with New Mexico, Wyoming, Illinois, and Kentucky.
