Obvious sign of CCP's determination to control the Pacific ocean. Though an old concept, the "seaplane" can do many things other transport/patrol aircraft (C-17/P-8) cannot do.

I've always wondered why we don't have seaplanes in our arsenal any longer, they seem versatile and necessary for US hegemony in the APAC region.
