I disembarked from a Trawler after completing a fish survey at the Chatam Islands we were checking the Orange Roughy stocks. What a wonderful place. The most Westerley occupied land in the world. I flew to Christchurch by Chatam Air Convair which was half cargo and half passenger. The pilot refuelled the aircraft himself. I was fortunate to have a couple of days there.
I have a beer mug, a Chatam Air Pen and a Millenium Dollar Note which I shall keep forever as the chances of going back are nil.
