Douglas DC-3 (N8336C) - The "Spirit Of Benovia," a Douglas DC-3A (N8336C), is seen here in its first FA gallery post on the Mather ramp (KMHR, Sacramento, CA) about one-half hour before high noon. "Spirit Of Benovia" is at MHR to participate in the annual California Capital Airshow which takes place this weekend. The Navy Blue Angels and the B-29 Superfortress "FiFi" were also parked on Mathers ramp, just a short distance away, when this shot was snapped.br /As always, I suggest viewing the real photo ("FULL") rather than just viewing either of the miniaturized thumbnail sizes because the actual (FULL) size provides much better Q.

I wish to say a heartfelt "thanks" to my companion spotter for making yesterday's banzai photo trip to SMF, MTH, and SUU such a wonderful day. I'm very much looking forward to doing it again for all six days next week. (Two thumbs up)

That's a pretty bird, Gary!

It definitely is, Greg. And we almost missed seeing it. Our fault; we had been at KSMF early and when we got to Mather were 100% focused on the several Commemorative Air Force warbirds so at first we did not look for anything other than those (and, naturally, the Blue Angels). I actually first spotted this old DC-3 while looking straight out "FiFi's" cockpit window. So, after touring thru FiFi and getting snaps of all the military metalbirds, we went over and caught clicks of this one. Then, it was off to KSUU (Travis) and then back to Sacto International for a second time before driving back home. A very loooong day, ... but waaaay worth it.

Nice catch! Saw this bird at Salinas this past weekend at California International Airshow 2016.

Wow, Gary! That sounds like a pretty busy day! But I'm pretty sure the Blue Angels helped make up for it. And if you got some shots like this one, then that's pretty cool, too. Anyway, thanks for sharing!

Nice snap-first time on FA, a DC-3 with gear doors and deicer boots. Very nice Gary!

This is perfection Gary. Lighting is excellent and a great example of the DC-3
