16-6818 — - Lt. Pete "Smelly Cat" Daniels holds his F/A-18E Super Hornet, assigned to the Strike Fighter Squadron 136 (VFA 136) "Knighthawks" and homeported at NAS Oceana, on taxiway Bravo at Naval Air Station Fallon as another F/A-18E Super Bug (166954, assigned to the VFA 86 "Sidewinders" and piloted by LCDR R.G. "Fleadip" Bieze) glides toward NFLs runway 31L. Lt Daniels was taking off to participate in a Top Gun training mission while LCDR Bieze was returning from a just-completed TG sortie. (I wish the day had been sunny, but Id have stood in the rain for this photo opportunity.)
