Another great capture Gary! Here in BOS we were also received the air quality affects from the wildfires. Be safe my friend!

This was clicked last week. On that particular day, there were (and still ARE) two huge wildfires burning just west of Reno. One was located northwest of the city and the other was southwest of the Truckee Meadows. Strong winds from the west were blowing smoke to the east but the skies directly over the city and the airport were clear blue. Since that day, heavy smoke has covered the entire area. The smoke from these two fires plus a monstrous third fire in Oregon is so thick that it is actually affecting air quality and visibility across the US and as far away as New York City. (According to Hoda K and Al R on NBC's TODAY show, only the citizens of New York City are having to cope with smoke from out here, but on other networks the reporters are saying that many cities across the country are being affected.)

As for the news reports on this morning's TODAY show, the weatherguy spent most of his time explaining how the poor residents of NYC were suffering from poor air quality. So we switched channels and that's when we learned that the air was bad all across the country and that Boston (and many other cities) were also enduring poor air. Frankly, NYC is ALWAYS in the midst of some type of crisis and after awhile it's just blah, blah, old news. Anyway, YOU be safe, my friend. (Wave)
