Northrop RF-5 Tigereye (76-1536)
For a third straight morning, "Bogey One Oh," a VFC-13 "Fighting Saints" Northrop F-5N Tiger II, performs a single here-and-gone pass at Reno Tahoe International; on this day along runway 16R-34L. VFC-13 is the aggressor squadron at TopGun at NAS Fallon just "down the road" a bit east of Reno.
Comments
"Bogey One Oh" had a companion this time; another F-5 Tiger ("Bogey Four Oh") was his wingman. They both made one T&G pass. I caught some fabulous backgrounds in each set of shots as they blazed past my position.
I like it!
Gary... thanks for sharing this great photo capture of another Northrop F-5 variant. To me, the fact this design remains in such use as you described is a testament to Jack Northrop's engineering and design brilliance. The F-5's "DNA" lives on in the Navy's F/A-18.
Outstanding shot and framing, Gary!
