Hi Joao, I am am interested in your comment "This plane had the nasty habit of loosing parts all over Lisbon" can you please tell me what parts, .. engines, flaps, undercarriage covers ..?

In a period of 6 months, the TAAG B777 'lost' substantial parts two times, fortunately not injuring anybody! I believe they were from the engine cowlings and/or flaps/slats

Thanks Joao. Hopefully it is rare for bits to fall off aircraft, however I have a photo of a B767 (ZK-NCL) showing a missing undercarriage cover.

True, Peter. It is rare! Therefore much more worrying! Lisbon Airport is in the middle of Lisbon City. In the 50 years I lived there I never heard of such large parts falling off on ANY aircraft!
That was the reason everybody was more surprized! 1 of the parts felt on a car on the outskirts of the city, and it was more then 1 meter big! Just imagine it felt on a group of children or so...
