Lockheed F-16 Fighting Falcon (89-2098) - Damaged stinger in the golden hour. A USAF F-16C Fighting Falcon, the 180th Fighter Wing flagship, awaiting crash recovery as crews finalize plans. The Pilot experienced a runway excursion after landing on Wednesday, 20 Mar, 2024. Fortunately, he was not injured and kept it upright, but the aircraft suffered major damage. This just illustrates no matter the technology, training, and aircraft, aviation has its’ risks. I have the upmost confidence the 180th maintainers will have her back in the air in due time.
