Great photo of a very nice and super roomy Cherokee Six!
Yep, they are a great workhorse with a spacious six seat cabin!
Excellent, and I'm sure that next year they'll be back!
Sue: Those cover's above the tires are there to direct air flow and cut down on any turbulence. Believe they are called fairing pants or wheel speeding fairing. Something like that. Not many aircraft have these but this Saratoga is one. Hope this answers. TKS!
Yes indeed, in regard to the wheel fairings cutting down on aerodynamic drag. They went out of use for quite a while, but I notice that the very latest Kodiak version has incorporated them...
Chris: My latest outing I photographed two aircraft with these fairings above the wheels. A 2023 Cessna 182T and a Cirrus SR20 2005 model. Did not really notice them till I got home and reviewed all the planes spotted that day. This Saratoga is larger than those two models with those fairings. TKS for the info on the previous comment.
Great spotting warmwynds! My sixty year old girlfriend is a PA30 Twin Comanche, s/n 30-313, she was built in early'64 in Lock Haven PA. My dad was the chief pilot for Piper's agent in Sydney, Australia in the '70s and the '80s. Best Regards! Chris
Chris: I know of the Piper Lock Haven plant as they have a museum there now, Hurricane Agnes did a job on that plant in 1972. I hope to visit that location someday as I am about 5 hours away. Does ROBEYAIR mean anything to you?
Yep, that was a consultancy company but got closed about four years ago. I can recall the flooding that caused the devastation at Lock Haven back in '72.
Chris: As you know that Piper manufacturing plant closed because of destructive flooding in 1972 but
the tooling had already begun on the Saratoga aircraft replacement. Copy that on the consultancy company. TKS for the info.

Frank: That would be one of those kit planes off to the right of the Saratoga. It is a Kitfox Skystar. No one was at it while I was plane spotting this small airport. TKS!
