McDonnell Douglas MD-80 (N944AS) - KSJC- departing 30R at SJC on an Alaska MD-83- looking down at Terminal A at San Jose enroute to PDX. WHen we approached PDX, we made the eastern approach, then flew by the tower, landing gear problem. We flew towards Mt St Helens away from the pattern, then returned 20 mins later to a full emergency landing- all equipment waiting. That was my 1st flight into PDX ever and my 2nd MD-80 flight on AS.
