BOEING 747-100 (N7470) - KBFI - Summer 1975 - photo taken by me from where about our house used to be before Interstate 5 was built( our house was demolished by the State of Washington) Summer 1964. This view looking west at the north end of BFI. If you can see where the taxi way is east of the main runway, and how narrow it is, we used to see Boeing B-52 Tall tails" taxi on this side of the runway from the left, sometime 4-5 lined up and other B-52s from the west side of the runway, and all of them would take off back to back to back, smoking like crazy and just layer the area in back smoke, and it was loud as all heck,,,,,but so cool. When the B-52s would return, they always used the drag chute out the back and many had them deployed on final over south Seattle, on over Georgetown district and onto the runway. The B-47s were even better pre-1964. The building in the foreground is Krusteazs Pancake Company where they made the pancake mix. My 4 brothers and I would always be down there walking the tracks and goofing around in the railroad box cars.
