Boeing 727-100 (ZS-DYM) - Travelling back to boarding school in the then Rhodesia. Bloemfontein/BFN to Jan Smuts/JNB SAA B727-100 ‘Tugela’ (ZS-DYM) re-registered ZS-SBA. Photo taken at JBM Hertzog Airport, Bloemfontein in July 1965 by my late dear mom after I had boarded enroute to Salisbury/SAY (Harare/HRE), Rhodesia (Zimbabwe). Note the open white picket fence gate leading to the winding concrete concourse to the tarmac; it served as ‘Departures/Arrivals’ for all “Non-Whites/Nie Blankes” passengers who were barred from entering the terminal except for check-in and baggage claim.
