Super Shot !!!!
Super Shot !!!!
NUTS!
Angels' wings required.
Thats awfully dangerous....wouldn't be caught dead "flathatting" like that unless of course I would not care if I goofed, the wind caught me, and took me to my ultimate end.
Rick, I think you are an inobservant killjoy. Note that the water ahead of the plane, it is a very calm day, (plus the grasses on the bank are quietly standing at attention). The surface depression is minimal, (the splash has more to do with velocity differential than energy transfer). All the flight controls are at perfectly neutral positions, (the pilot has complete control of the aircraft with maximum error margins in every direction). This flight condition is safer and easier to do than touching down with the intent to land with a floatplane.
1988? What camera, mount and technique were used to capture this shot before the GoPro era?
An accident looking for a place to happen.
Dave Riggs tried this in China in a Lancair and killed himself and an 18 year old journalist.
Don't know what this is about but it reminds me of an expression I heard in my squadron when I was in the Navy.....something about "there's old pilots and bold pilots but few old, bold pilots.
Seaplane Rating?
