Airport please!?
Could it be a Convair 340?
a Convair 240
Nice looking 240. The 340 and 440's had the airstairs on the left side... Rhodes used to operate some of those out of the hangar where I was at Willow Run (KYIP).
Used to watch Frontier 580s (turboprop conversions) fly from North Platte, Neb., to Denver every day.
I was aircrew in the Navy and we had 003, 005, and 010. C131 convair 340G This may be a 240 but it is not a 340. All the 440's that I was around the door is on the right side and had tuboprops.
MARTIN 404
MARTIN 404
Specifically, it's a Convair CV-240D (s/n 163)that was later converted to a CV-600,and deregistered on 05/17/90 according to the FAA registry data. The Martin 404 looked similar but, among other differences, had a ventral air stair in the tail.
Sorry for not mentioning it earlier but I took this picture at Bradley Field (KBDL) in Windsor Locks, CT. in 1963 while spending a day plane watching.
