Comments
I'm not a pilot, so excuse me if this is a dumb question, but I noticed his rudder is angled to the right a fair amount. Is that because he is crabbing in a crosswind, or for some other reason. Thanks.
I believe it is steering onto the Centre Line on the runway before touchdown, think of it as a rudder on a boat because it does the same thing. Probably correcting for crosswinds, OR am I incorrect?
There was quite a bit of wind that day and the aircraft did quite a bit of crabbing and bobbing of the nose while on approach. Not much of that is obvious in a still photo but good catch on the rudder 'skyhawkrg'.
