N222FT — - A Vultee 28-5ACF sits on the ramp at historic HIckam Air Base with the Waianae Mountains in the background, and KC-135s and a F-35 nearby. This Catalina was on O'ahu for three weeks, culminating with the 75th Anniversary of VJ Day activities in which it took part. This plane will be loaded onto the USS Essex and shipped back to the mainland. The beautiful sound of its distinctive engines will be sorely missed on island.
